Risk
Posture Drift / Configuration Drift Over Time
Description
Agent posture set at build is not maintained โ tools, scopes, identities, or memory configurations expand silently as the agent evolves, eroding the original posture floor.
Example
An agent built with three approved tools accumulates eleven over six months as developers add MCP servers ad-hoc; nobody re-reviews the posture.
Assets Affected
AI Agent
Agent Config
Tool
MCP Server
Agent Identity
Mitigation
- Periodic posture re-baselining
- automated drift detection comparing current posture to the build-time floor
- alert on new tools, scopes, or MCPs added
- require approval for posture changes.
